RENETT GROVÉ

Renett Grové studied for a Bachelor of Arts degree through UNISA (University of South Africa) with psychology and sociology as majors, but whilst completing high school through a correspondence course, at the age of 15, Renett entered the business arena and became active in working as a telemarketer and sales representative. She has specialised since 1973 in selling and direct marketing, and subsequently has gained extensive experience in telesales, telephone market research and other telephone related work.

She has closely studied telephone communications and has developed programmes suited for multi-lingual, multi-cultural business environments. Skills presented in these courses have been proved successful during numerous telesales, tele-canvassing and telemarketing campaigns. During the 1980s, Renett spent time working successfully as a Life Representative and she received numerous sales awards. She decided to leave the industry to realise the concept of establishing a business skills training concern.

Renett established Dynamic Telephone Communications in 1984 and the organisation was incorporated as a Close Corporation in 1988. During the time that Renett was managing executive, Dynamic Telephone Communications cc was responsible for training more than forty-five thousand delegates. She has designed and presented the more than 100 motivation, communication and telephone-oriented training programmes used. She also trained various trainers who have over the years successfully utilised the technology she originated. To date, delegates trained have represented the full spectrum of language and culture groups in South African society and have included work-seekers as well as personnel employed in switchboard posts, secretarial posts, credit control positions, computer help desk posts, telesales, assertive telemarketing, direct face-to-face selling, fund raising posts, call centre operations, management and a variety of other front-line positions.

Renett was also closely associated with establishing and managing telemarketing teams on behalf of clients. This required involvement with recruitment, personnel selection, strategic planning, script design, control and all aspects of training and management. Two such campaigns involved over 100 personnel members each.

Personal experience in dealing effectively and successfully with adverse conditions has qualified Renett to present the Dynamic Living Motivation programme with conviction. Delegates not only leave this course with a motivated attitude, but they are also inspired to apply the practical skills to living a more disciplined, goal directed and controlled life.

Renett has served on numerous charities and welfare committees and has served as chairman and vice chairman on a number of occasions. In 1988 she was awarded the State President's Excelsior award. In 1989 she was represented as Star Business Personality of the Week. She was awarded second place in the Randburg Business Woman of the Year competition and in 1990 she was the Sandton Chronicle's Business Personality of the Week. She was nominated as a Star Unsung Heroin in 1983 and in 1988 she received a J and B Rare Achiever's award for social work and education.

Renett has often been interviewed on radio, television and in the press and is frequently invited as a guest speaker for public events. In her free time, Renett is occupied in the main with creative writing, reading and community projects.
