For centuries, negotiation was used to resolve conflicts or determine prices and costs. In the 21st century, negotiation no longer works and CONSULTATION is the communication tool most effective in a technological world where the challenge is to find Unity in Diversity.

Programme Content:

  • Why does diversity often result in communication barriers?
  • What are some of the challenges faced in South African businesses as a result of the diversity within our work environment?
  • Consultation versus negotiation.
  • Skills that assist in finding common ground.
  • Skills that will assist in preventing conflict.
  • How to turn conflict into an opportunity to build positive long-term relationships with internal and external clients.
  • How to avoid the WINNER/LOSER GAME and instead find solutions that benefit all concerned.
  • How to remain assertive during consultation without becoming aggressive.
  • Mastering Consultation Skills — Communication skills that foster unity.
  • How to use Consultation in matters relating to finances.
  • A strategy to ensure that skills acquired during training are used consistently in the work environment.
